Adity Mohsin was born in 1970 in Dhaka, Bangladesh, in a family with a deep appreciation for Rabindranath Tagore’s music and literature. From an early age, her mother instilled in her a love for music and enrolled her at Bulbul Academy of Fine Arts (BAFA). After completing her diploma in Rabindra Sangeet from BAFA in 1988, Adity went on to complete her Intermediate Arts (IA) at Holy Cross College, Dhaka. In 1992, with a scholarship from the Indian government, she moved to Santiniketan to study music at the prestigious Visva-Bharati University. There, she earned both her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees, graduating with top honors.
Musical Career
Adity Mohsin’s musical career began to take shape during her time at Visva-Bharati University, where she received training in Rabindra Sangeet from notable instructors like Kanika Bandopadhyay and Nilima Sen. This period proved to be pivotal in her musical journey. After returning to Bangladesh, she continued to hone her vocal skills and furthered her musical education under the guidance of renowned Rabindra Sangeet artist Sadi Mohammad. Adity also spent additional time training with Swastika Mukhopadhyay to enhance her vocal range and musical knowledge.
Since 2000, she has served as a senior teacher at Chhayanaut, an institution dedicated to the promotion of Bengali music and culture. Additionally, Adity regularly performs on various Bangladeshi television and radio channels, including Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Betar, NTV, Maasranga TV, SA TV, and Tara Muzik.

Adity Mohsin’s discography includes several highly successful albums, starting with her debut album Amar Mon Cheye Roy in 2003. Moreover, she has been part of several high-profile performances, such as in Kolkata in 2009, where she performed alongside Asha Bhosle, Lopamudra Mitra, Subhamita Banerjee, and Srabani Sen as part of the Panchakannya group.
Personal Life
Adity Mohsin is actively involved in promoting Rabindra Sangeet in Bangladesh. She currently serves as the secretary of the Dhaka City Committee of the Jatio Rabindra Sangeet Sammilon Parishad. She is also a member of the Bangladesh Rabindra Sangeet Shilpi Sangstha, an organization dedicated to the welfare of Rabindra Sangeet artists.

Throughout her career, Adity Mohsin has received several prestigious awards. Notably, she was honored with the Debabrata Smriti Purashkar from Visva-Bharati University for achieving first-class honors in her Bachelor’s degree.
