Hima Akter Hiramony, an emerging artist from Bangladesh, is a versatile and accomplished individual. She successfully completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts (Hons) and Master of Fine Arts degrees at Khulna University in Bangladesh, achieving remarkable results. Her exceptional talent was acknowledged when she was awarded the President’s Gold Medal on December 22, 2019, by Abdul Hamid, the President of Bangladesh.

Since completing her university exams, Hiramony has actively participated in numerous art exhibitions, both in her home country and abroad. Notably, she received recognition and the Best Artist award at an exhibition organized by the American Corner. Additionally, she was invited to participate in an international workshop and exhibition at the University of Kalyani in India, where she successfully obtained certification.

Hiramony has also organized her own exhibition, focusing on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of Bangladesh. The three-day-long exhibition, titled “Life and Sketch of Bangabandhu, Mourning August 15,” was held at the press club in the city of Khulna, Bangladesh, and concluded on August 16, 2021. The exhibition aimed to pay homage to Bangabandhu by presenting a comprehensive portrayal of his journey, from the Liberation War to the establishment of an independent Bangladesh, as well as the tragic events of August 15, 1975, when Bangabandhu, along with Bangamata Fazilatunnesa Mujib and their family members, were brutally murdered. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor of Khulna University and presented by Hiramony, the recipient of the President’s Gold Medal, who studied Fine Arts at the university.

This art exhibition, initiated by the Khulna Press Club (KPC), provided a detailed depiction of Bangabandhu’s life and the events that shaped the nation’s history, including the struggle for independence and the subsequent tragedy. On the concluding day of the exhibition, Harun-ur-Rashid, the Chairman of Khulna Zila Parishad and a heroic freedom fighter, praised the artist’s ability to capture Bangabandhu’s expressions, gestures, and resilience in overcoming obstacles and challenges. He also expressed deep respect for Bangabandhu’s memory on the occasion of his 46th martyrdom.
